Getting a Golf Car for a Campground

The sun is shining and the RV is loaded. When you get to the campground you notice golf cars everywhere. Different makes and themes all built towards their owner’s taste. Now you are thinking of how much you want a golf car. But what type of golf car would you need? What are the rules for golf cars at campgrounds? While each campground has their own set of rules, there are some basic ones that apply unilaterally. Please, always check with the place you are staying for all fo the details. 

The Basics

First, we can start with the type of golf car you will need. Four-passenger golf cars are the most popular for campgrounds or other uses that are not golf. These golf cars allow for more passengers or the option for cargo transport. Folding rear seats have a seat bottom on one side and a flat surface on the other. These are versatile and are already installed on most of the used golf cars at LEGC. You may also want to consider a lift kit and more aggressive tires. This will allow you to traverse the rougher paths and give you a higher ground clearance. The make and model are up to you, but most prefer gas golf cars for their all day usability. 

More Basics

Most campgrounds will require your golf car to meet certain requirements. One of the most important golf car modifications are the lighting system. Your golf car will be required to not only illuminate where you are going, but also alert those behind you that someone is there. Not all campgrounds require seatbelts but if you have children we would highly recommend them. You will need some sort of an ID number for your golf car, possibly even a lighted license plate. Check with your campground for their regulations.
