Golf Car Inspections at Lake Erie Golf Cars

Driving a golf car around the neighborhood to a friend or family's house is fun, and now you can legally do this in some jurisdictions. You can see a list of those jurisdictions here. In order to comply you will need to have the proper equipment as well as the proper documentation. Lake Erie Golf Cars has a Parts and Accessories department that can assist you in getting the right golf car mods to be street legal. Now, we can also offer a golf car certification that can be obtained by an inspection performed by a licensed professional. This will be offered at 4500 Boardman-Canfield Road in Canfield, Ohio 44406 on upcoming dates to be decided later. These dates will be listed on the event calendar below and you will need to register to bring your car in. You can register your golf car here. The inspections will be done on-site and the golf car owner will be responsible for the transportation to and from the location. 

What are Some of the Things They Inspect

There are a few areas of importance when they are inspecting your golf car. You can see the Ohio Administrative Code on proper equipment here. You will have to have proper lighting consisting of headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals. These are a staple of road safety and the majority of the golf cars available at Lake Erie Golf Cars have headlights and taillights. Street legal add-ons are available for all models. You will also need mirrors on both sides of your golf car and a rearview mirror. Seatbelts are required for all of your passengers and proper equipment for children of appropriate ages. As with any vehicle on public roads, you will need to have it registered and licensed. This will include the need for insurance on your golf cart. This inspection will satisfy the criteria set by the BMV and the State of Ohio to legally register your golf car for street use. Please remember to check with your local jurisdiction for roadways approved for golf car usage. 
 

The Inspection Fee will be $195 per golf car. 

The golf car transportation to and from the inspection is the responsibility of the golf car owner.
